Campus Outreach

Attracting and delivering the best

Hiring quality talent, providing thorough training and empowering to deliver, defines our program

Campus Collaterals

HT Media Ltd. Has the distinction of being the first Indian Media organizations to start a broad based Campus Outreach Program. The program, till recently, was available in the Management and Engineering categories. However, its success has inspired us to launch a similar program for Editorial as well.

The Campus Outreach program is aimed at harnessing young talent and introducing fresh thinking into the company across functions and geographies. Through the Campus Program we get ideas and enthusiastic work force and we connect with youth and benefit from their innovative thinking and boundless energy. Youth, with the ability to think out of the box and dream big, are really putting entrepreneurial spirit into the workplace.  This is a part of HT Media's Talent Management Strategy where we groom General Managerial Talent for the future.

The Management Trainee Program started in 2005 and spans premier institutions like IIM-A, IIM- C, IIM – I, IIM – L, MDI, XLRI , MICA, S.P. Jain and FMS where we have become a sought after media brand. Given our presence across supply chain, manufacturing, procurement and all other general management functions the program is a great opportunity to recruit people from diverse backgrounds - graduates, post graduates, engineers, people with prior work experience and complete freshers.

Summer@HT is a program for summer interns from the same B-schools where they get a flavor of the organization’s working and culture. AT the end of program a rigorous appraisal at the Assessment Centre enables us to spot the best talent and make PPOs. A total of 38 such young professionals have joined the company through the MT program and 4 of them are through PPOs.

Likewise the Graduate Engineering Program spans premier institutions in printing like Manipal Institute of Printing, Pune College of Printing, Jadhavpur University- Kolkata and Guru Jamveshwar University of Printing- Hissar.  In the last 3 years, more than 30 Engineering graduates have joined our various press and have provided a fresh approach to one of the most traditional businesses in India – newspaper printing.

The more recent Editorial Program for Mint and HT goes to local colleges like St Stephens, LSR, Hindu, JMC and Delhi School of Economics for reporting and desk talent. In addition to these we also visit the Asian College of Journalism, Institute of Mass Communication and Jamia milia Institute of Journalism for Trainee Journalists. In 2008 the program went international and we hired the first batch of international Interns from Columbia School of Journalism.

Interestingly all these initiatives have also added another dimension through our Editorial coverage and focus - Campus Calling and Hot New Careers. This has become a much awaited, credible source of information on campus admissions, the process, dates, problems and supposed solutions. It also covers other aspects of life on campus and also the career opportunities across disciplines. This generates a lot of excitement in those who decide to be on the other side and actually get involved with reporting and campus coverage.
The last segment of campus hiring while not organized through Career Programs as the ones above has more local and regional flavors. We continuously look for young graduates, PGs and MBAs for roles in Editorial, Circulation Sales and Media Marketing.
